As the government access channel for the City of El Paso, City TV is dedicated to providing news and information about El Paso’s City government. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week with focused programming on government information.

City TV serves the community with coverage of live city council meetings, in-house productions, and meetings from other government entities, video tours of city departments and plenty of informative and entertaining programming. The station informs El Paso residents and visitors of events, activities and news surrounding the City of El Paso.

Original programming is designed, written, produced and edited by City TV staff for the sole purpose of providing local government information to residents. Programming varies from city council meetings to news conferences to public service announcements.

City TV first aired in April 2008 as City 15. Since then, the station has grown and won numerous awards at the state level from the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers.

Jose Solis

JoseJose is the Lead Multimedia Coordinator for City TV with the City of El Paso. He started his career with the city in 2007. 

Some of his duties include the upkeep of the CITY TV, video acquisition and post production. In 1986 he earned an A.A.S. degree in Media Production Technology from El Paso Community College. In 2004, he also earned a B.S. degree from Park University in Social Psychology.

Prior to joining the City of El Paso, Jose worked at three different local television stations as a photojournalist, master control operator and live production for 21 years.

On his free time Jose and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. One of his favorite hobbies is doing home improvement and keeping up with digital technology.

Jonathan Romo

Jonathan RomoJonathan, a Media Specialist with the City El Paso, joined the City TV team in January 2017. He most recently worked at Ratheon Co. where he developed an array of graphics, videos and informational outreach material using his multimedia skills.

He began his career in television programming producing live audio broadcasts at Univision in El Paso, an extension of Entravision Communications Corporation. His career has also taken him to Austin, Texas where he served as a Creative Specialist for the
City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and part of the television programing team for ATXN, the official television station of the City of Austin.

At the City of El Paso, Jonathan develops graphics and videos for City TV programming and assists with directing live broadcasts. He studied at the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned a degree in Digital Media.

When Jonathan is not utilizing his multimedia skills, he is enjoying the outdoors through mountain biking and hiking or entertaining audiences with his musical talent. He is a bassist for Jamiroqueen, a disco and funk band.

Nigel D. Sherman

Nigel ShermanNigel joined the City of El Paso as a Media Specialist in January of 2017.  His primary work duties include coordinating CityTV programming, photojournalism, creative production and directing live broadcasts.

He earned a degree in Media Production and has more than nine years of experience in news production with local television stations – KDBC Channel 4, KTSM Channel 9 and KCOS 13.

Nigel is a fourth generation El Pasoan and his family has a long history of taking pride in the El Paso community dating back to his great-grandfather, R.E. Sherman, who was mayor during the 1930s.

As a veteran of the El Paso music and arts scene, Nigel continues to be active in the local arts community by designing and printing t-shirts with the theme of El Paso pride.

Nigel is proud to call El Paso home and is excited to continue sharing the beauty he sees in our city through the lens of his camera.
